PUBLIC OPINION STRATEGIES NAMES A NEW PARTNER
Alexandria, VA – Public Opinion Strategies is pleased to announce the promotion of Vice President Robert Blizzard to join the firm’s partnership.
This past election cycle, Blizzard was the pollster for Andy Barr’s upset victory over long-term Democratic incumbent Ben Chandler. Also in 2012, Blizzard polled for several winning Republican incumbent congressional campaigns, successful statewide ballot initiatives, and helped Republican-held state legislatures in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan maintain their majorities.
“Robert Blizzard and POS did a great job for us throughout our successful campaign for Congress. Robert gave us accurate data, spot on analysis and professional advice, all of which were essential to our victory,” said Congressman Barr.
Prior to being named a partner, Blizzard directed the research efforts for hundreds of political candidates in nearly every state, for Political Action Committees and Independent Expenditure efforts on both the federal and local levels, and for national party organizations such as the Republican National Committee, the NRCC and the NRSC.
In the past year, Blizzard has been recognized as one of Washington DC’s most influential Republicans under the age of 35, and received one of the most prestigious honors in politics when he was named a “Rising Star” by Campaigns & Elections Magazine.
In addition to his political research experience, Blizzard has also conducted public opinion surveys and focus groups for numerous national associations, public affairs groups, and Fortune 500 companies across the country.
“The survey research conducted by Robert Blizzard has helped Google’s Politics and Elections team and our advertising clients better understand how the growth of the web and proliferation of new technologies is radically changing how, where and when voters access political news and information,” said Rob Saliterman of Google’s Politics and Elections team.
Blizzard started with Public Opinion Strategies more than a decade ago and worked his way up the ranks of the firm, holding nearly every position in the company.
Public Opinion Strategies has established itself as a specialist in message development in the arena of public affairs campaigns and for some of the most complex public policy battles of the last decade. Described by The New York Times as “the leading Republican polling company” in the country, Public Opinion Strategies’ political clients include 15 U.S. Senators, over 75 members of Congress, 6 Governors, and numerous State Legislators and local elected officials across the country. The firm is also part of the bi-partisan research team that conducts the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.
