PUBLIC OPINION STRATEGIES NAMES A NEW PARTNER
Alexandria, VA – Public Opinion Strategies is pleased to announce the promotion of Senior Vice President James Burton to join the firm’s partnership. Since joining Public Opinion Strategies in 2002, Burton has worked on nearly 1000 research projects.
Prior to joining the partnership, James Burton served as Senior Vice President with POS for the last three years and has worked in survey research for the last decade, directing research efforts for hundreds of political and public affairs campaigns throughout the country and internationally. Jim’s public affairs research experience includes work on deregulation, telecommunications, tax reform, tort reform, health care, zoning and land use issues, and bottled water. Jim has also led international projects in Afghanistan, Cambodia, Iraq, and the Philippines.
Some of the organizations he has worked with include: the Dallas Cowboys, BNSF Railway, Pepsi, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, the Catholic Health Association, Verizon, Tyson Foods, Station Casinos, and the Peoria library system.
“Jim has made a significant contribution to the Firm and our clients, and it is a privilege to announce his elevation to partnership,” said Bill McInturff, managing partner and a founding member of Public Opinion Strategies.
“He has developed terrific survey research skills and a deep commitment to his clients and the issues he works on. His promotion is just one more step in continuing to expand our partnership and practice, and in providing our clients with the best pollsters in the business,” said McInturff.
In 2010 Burton was recognized for his polling and analysis by Aristotle, a political technology serving candidates and political parties worldwide, who named him one of their Republican Campaign Dream Team members.
Public Opinion Strategies has established itself as a specialist in message development in the arena of public affairs campaigns and for some of the most complex public policy battles of the last decade. In the last six election cycles, Public Opinion Strategies helped elect over 75 new members of the U.S. House, more than any other polling firm, Democrat or Republican.
