New Survey for AAF Finds Americans Prefer Shorter Unemployment Insurance Window, and Significant Support for Offsets

Offered the choice of unemployment benefits lasting six months or a little over five years, American voters opt overwhelmingly for the pre-2008 recession standard of six months.  In a second question, which is the first we’ve seen to test the choice of extending benefits as is, or offsetting them, a strong majority support offsets.
