Public Opinion Strategies recently conducted a national survey on how much Americans are paying attention to COVID-19 (commonly referred to as Coronavirus), their concerns and whether they are taking precautionary steps.
We have put together a brief PowerPoint to illustrate the survey data. A few key highlights from the survey:
• More than 9 in 10 Americans indicate having seen, read or heard something about coronavirus, including 60% who say they have heard a lot about it. This has already become one of the top news events of the last decade in terms of Americans’ familiarity.
• 49% of Americans believe the country is prepared for an outbreak, while 46% do not believe we are ready for an outbreak.
• 61% of Americans are personally concerned about the coronavirus, though just 42% have taken extra precautions to lower their risk of exposure.
Please let us know if you have questions or would like to discuss the findings further.
