Patrick Lanne, Partner


Patrick serves as the pollster for Republican officials at every level of government. He has polled for thirteen members of Congress, two Governors, a US Senator, five winning statewide initiative campaigns and state legislative candidates in a dozen states. He helped Republicans gain majorities in five state legislative branches.

In 2016, Patrick polled for Todd Young’s upset of Evan Bayh in the Indiana US Senate race – helping Senator Young overcome a more than twenty point deficit to defeat the former Governor and Senator by nearly ten points. He also polled for Congressman John Katko (NY-24) who won with 61% of the vote in a district carried by Hillary Clinton. In addition, Patrick also polled for statewide winners in Missouri and Indiana, successful legislative campaigns in five states, and new Congressman David Kustoff (TN-8).

He has completed research for the Republican Governors Association, the Republican State Leadership Committee, the Republican Attorneys General Association, the National Republican Congressional Committee and several state party organizations. In 2012, Campaigns and Elections magazine named Patrick as an “Influencer” for his work in state level politics.

Patrick’s corporate polling experience includes advertising testing, one on one interviews with corporate officers and board members, and large quantitative studies. Some of the companies and organizations he has worked with include: Nucor, the Illinois Manufacturers Association, the American Cancer Society, StudentsFirst and the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids. He has completed research projects in Azerbaijan, Germany, and the Philippines.

Prior to joining POS, Patrick coordinated message development and incumbent retention programs for the Wisconsin Assembly Republicans. He began his career in politics working as a regional campaign coordinator for the New York Assembly Republicans. He has also managed a congressional race.

Patrick is a magna cum laude graduate of Siena College. He is a frequent speaker on public opinion trends and has taught a class on campaign strategy at Skidmore College. He lives in Saratoga Springs, New York with his wife, Michelle, and two kids, Elliot and Shelby.
