Robert Blizzard is a Partner at Public Opinion Strategies, a national political and public affairs research firm described by The New York Times as “the leading Republican polling company” in the country.

Described as a “blue-chip” name in Washington by Politico, Blizzard has been recognized as one of the country’s top 40 under 40 brightest young political professionals, as one of the most influential young Republicans in Washington, and was named a “Rising Star” in American politics by Campaigns & Elections Magazine.

In 2016, Blizzard polled for two new Republican members of Congress, including Dr. Roger Marshall (KS-1) who came from 40 points down to defeat Tim Huelskamp in a historic Republican primary win, and Claudia Tenney (NY-22), who won a contentious three-way campaign despite being outspent considerably.  Blizzard also polled for successful Super PAC efforts on behalf of Republican U.S. Senate wins for Chuck Grassley (IA), Rob Portman (OH), and Marco Rubio (FL).

In 2016, Blizzard was the chief pollster for Kentucky Republicans which took control of the State House for the first time in nearly 100 years, knocking off the Democratic House Speaker in the process.  And, Blizzard helped Republicans increase their state legislative majorities in New York, Ohio and Michigan.

Blizzard now polls for nearly a dozen Republicans in the U.S. House, including Andy Barr (KY-6), Lou Barletta (PA-11), Dan Donovan (NY-11), Chuck Fleischmann (TN-3), Brett Guthrie (KY-2), Raul Labrador (ID-1) Pat Meehan (PA-7), John Moolenaar (MI-4), Tim Murphy (PA-18), and Glenn Thompson (PA-5).  And, over the last three cycles, Blizzard has been the pollster for Republican state legislative caucuses in Kentucky (Senate/House), Ohio (Senate/House), Michigan (Senate/House) and New York (Senate).

In addition to his campaign polling expertise, Blizzard has directed research for the past several years on how evolving technology trends are changing the video consumption habits of Americans for both Google and Snapchat.  On behalf of NBC News/Esquire Magazine, Blizzard has conducted bi-partisan national research focused on the New American Center and Blizzard’s firm is also part of the bi-partisan research team that conducts the prestigious NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

Blizzard has also conducted corporate image, messaging, and crisis management research for numerous national associations, public affairs groups, and Fortune 500 companies.  And, as a professionally trained focus group moderator, Blizzard has conducted extensive qualitative research on a variety of topics and issues around the country – including the last two cycles among the cohort of “Walmart Moms.”
