Lori Weigel is a Partner with Public Opinion Strategies, based in the firm’s Colorado office. Weigel has directed research efforts for hundreds of political and public affairs campaigns throughout the country, including polling on behalf of presidential campaigns in four of the last five presidential elections. Over the last 17 years, Weigel has been instrumental in the successful election efforts on behalf of dozens of common sense judges and Attorneys General across the country.

Her political work today is primarily focused on polling for and against ballot measures. She has polled on behalf of the winning side of statewide ballot measure campaigns in over a dozen states, as well as local measures from Washington to New Jersey and Florida to Wyoming. Her experience polling on policy issues extends to such varied areas as health care, energy, land use, food and alcohol regulation, recreation, technology, tort reform/litigation, corporate image, employee/union relations and crisis management.

Weigel provided 2016 election night commentary for the Denver Post, and is frequently quoted on politics, including in The New York Times, the New Republic, Slate, and other major publications. She formerly served as the pollster for the Rocky Mountain News.

Public Opinion Strategies’ clients include 62 Members of Congress, six governors, 12 U.S. Senators and numerous state legislative caucuses. The firm also conducts corporate image, crisis management and public policy polling for numerous Fortune 500 companies and national industry associations, such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, American Hospital Association, American Beverage Association, and the National Association of Realtors. The firm is also the Republican partner for the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

Before moving to Colorado, Weigel polled for a Gallup-affiliate in Washington D.C., worked on Jack Kemp’s presidential campaign, and for the National Federation of Republican Women. She graduated cum laude from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service with a B.S. in International Politics. She lives in Golden with her aspiring engineer daughter and future Major League baseball player son.
